Every month, the Phelps Chamber of Commerce highlights one of our members as Business of the Month. For May of 2016, we are pleased to honor a local family owned and operated business in its’ 5th generation of ownership.
In 1889, Thomas Day travelled from England through Boston and purchased some farm land in Phelps, NY. Over 120 years later, his great grandson Dick (Richard Sr.) is the eldest of several Days who continue the tradition on that same farm land. Dick’s sons, Richard Jr. (Rick) and Rodney also work at the farm, as well as Rick’s 22 year old son—Richard III.
Day Brothers Farm specializes in dairy, and maple which is often bought right out of their driveway. They also provide maple syrup to the chef at Geneva on the Lake and their maple products can also be purchased in the gift shop at Belhurst Castle.
To learn more, be sure to check out the Village Window Display at the Phelps Community Center, or stop by Day Brothers Dairy & Maple Farm at 2292 County Rd 6 in Phelps, NY 14532 for some delicious maple syrup or maple cream!
