The Partnership for Ontario County is looking for sponsors to help support the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) as it moves from Phelps, N.Y. to the Partnership’s home office in Canandaigua. The CAC provides a child-friendly location where investigations can be conducted, medical evaluations preformed and mental health services can be referred. Additionally, the CAC provides child abuse prevention education to the community.
The move of the Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes to Canandaigua will allow for more varied services on-site, including: a counseling suite for specialized mental health services, a medical exam room, an interview room designed for young children and a separate interview room for older children and teenagers, and private spaces for families to meet with advocates, law enforcement, Child Protective Services, and other team members.
The Partnership is accepting donations in the form of sponsorship and naming rights, through an online Indiegogo Campaign. Large sponsors can name the Center, or a waiting room, or interview/meeting rooms for $10,000 – $20,000. The CAC will also feature a “Giving Tree” painted on a prominent wall in the waiting area. The tree will display leaves of different sizes and colors to represent donors who have given to the CAC in the following amounts:
Statistics show that a report of child abuse is made every ten seconds in the United States, and more than five children die every day as a result of abuse. Donations will not only support the CAC, but work to lower these statistics and prevent future cases of child abuse.
