&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Pile bags in an OPEN AREA between the sidewalk and street, where we can get the loader.
&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; DO NOT pile bags around trees, utility poles, fire hydrants, mailboxes, etc.
&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bags should be placed in piles.&nbsp; Only bagged leaves will be accepted.
&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; We will not pick up brush or complete tree removals.
&nbsp;
Also, remember that leaves and brush will be accepted at the Transfer Station, free of charge, on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.&nbsp; Bagged leaves taken to the Transfer Station must be opened and dumped.&nbsp;

The Village Office and all Departments will be closed, Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th.&nbsp;

The Transfer Station will be open on Sunday, October 27th &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to accept large items such as couches, chairs, mattresses, etc.

We will NOT be accepting garbage, recycling or brush on this day and the rate per pound will be the same as you are presently being charged (.15 per pound).

The Village of Phelps is accepting applications for a part-time Transfer Station Operator.&nbsp; Hours are Wednesdays from noon to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; this position is a job share working one week on, one week off, with flexibility.&nbsp; Minimal computer skills are required.

Cheney CPA, PLLC with offices located in Phelps, Geneva and Canandaigua.&nbsp;

<h2>Trustees</h2>
Howard Hughson has been a trustee since 1995.&nbsp; Howard is a Retired NYS Police Communications Specialist of 36 Years and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1970. Howard is a Phelps Central School alumni, and has been a member of the Phelps Fire Dept. since 1970.&nbsp; Howard and his wife Sylvia enjoy visiting their daughter in NYC and collecting antiques.

Joe DeBrock has lived in the village of Phelps for many years with his wife Carol. They have raised three children, Christina, Joseph, Jr and Margaret. Joe is retired from Phelps Cement Products as a dispatcher. He enjoys golfing, working on small engines or anything he can do outdoors. He has been a trustee since 1998.

Michael Cheney&nbsp;has been a resident of the&nbsp;Village of Phelps for his entire life. He and his wife, Stephanie, bought a house in the village in 2013&nbsp;and have two daughters, Joy and Joanie and two sons, Jesse and Jamie. Michael graduated from Midlakes in 2007 and obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. Michael volunteers with the Midlakes High School Theatre Experience Program and Phelps &ndash; Clifton Springs Community Theatre; building sets and teaching students to run the light and sound boards. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, restoring and renovating his house, and playing guitar.&nbsp; He is also a member of the Phelps Fire Department and a volunteer EMT for Phelps Ambulance.&nbsp; Michael has been a trustee since 2016 and Deputy Mayor since 2024.

William (Billy) McNicholas has been a resident of the Village of Phelps for 15 years after being born and raised in Geneva, NY. He and his wife, Amy moved to the Village in 2009 and have two daughters, Madison who is attending the University of Buffalo and Mackenize, who is a sophomore at Midlakes High School. Billy has worked for NYSEG for 16 years and has been a Volunteer Fireman for the Nester Hose Fire Department in Geneva, NY for over 20 years, holding an Officer position for the last 15 years. Billy enjoys landscaping at his home, being outdoors, spending time in the ADK and helping others. Billy is very passionate about this newly elected position and his Village.

<h3>Family parks to enjoy</h3>
Redfield Park, located on Church Street, is a community park with a gazebo, concession building, a baseball field and playground where outdoor summer concerts are held. The Methodist Memorial Park on Main Street is a great spot for a picnic under its majestic trees. The Phelps Community Center also hosts a full playground &amp; sports fields. The Crooked Bridge Park, Phelps newest park, is located on Williams Street. Here you can splash in the creek or picnic. All of the village parks have bag containers to help you clean up after your dog.

Phelps Office Complex, 8 Banta Street &bull; (315) 548-8484 The Phelps Community Center is in the heart of the village. It offers a variety of programs and activities for children of all ages.&nbsp; A gym, sports fields and a computer lab are available for use by residents of Phelps.
A number of small businesses and organizations are also in the Phelps Office Complex, including the Phelps Village Office, the Phelps Community Memorial Library, Ontario ARC and the &nbsp;Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes.

On Route 96, Ontario Pathways is a great hiking and biking trail that connects Phelps to Canandaigua. This trail is free to the public and open year round. Enjoy the many scenic views, while taking the family out for an afternoon of exercise and fun.
<h3>Phelps Sauerkraut&nbsp;Weekend</h3>
The Phelps Sauerkraut Weekend is held every year on the first weekend in August. This four day festival celebrates our history, when Phelps was the largest producer of sauerkraut in the world. The festival includes a fabulous parade, recipe contest, rides and a free piece of sauerkraut cake for everyone!
